Sermon delivered January 18, 2009
One of the advantages of a verse-by-verse study through a book of the Bible is that it forces us to deal with every word. Preachers may avoid committing to preaching each verse in a book because some may make either the congregation, or the preacher, uncomfortable. Yet we believe our Lord to be the manifestation of the entire Word of God -- the more we know of the Word, the better we know Jesus Christ. If we truly believe that every word is God-breathed, without error, given by the Holy Spirit, meant for the revealing of God and the edification of man, then we approach each verse with great expectation. Beginning today with an overview, we will be in Galatians for several months. Our minds renewed; our thoughts captivated by Christ; sanctification aroused -- join us as we dive into what may have been Paul's first letter!
