Creation Sings the Father's Song

E-mail Print PDF

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.  For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.  For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.  For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.  And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.  For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?  But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”  Romans 8:18-25

Continuing on through our “New Song September” today here at Westside Baptist Church, we arrive at one of the latest offerings from the powerhouse songwriting duo of Keith and Kristyn Getty.  The Getty’s continue to give the church some of the best in modern hymnody with their current release, “Awaken the Dawn.”  This track reminds the worshiper that he or she is only a part of the worship that takes place to the Creator.  All of creation has been made to declare the praises of the Savior.   Worship is not something that the Lord needs from us or begs of us; He honors us by allowing us to sing to Him, and commands us to lift our praise before Him.  I fear we may often lose sight of this truth and unknowingly elevate the worshiper above the object of true worship.  Let us join with the rest of creation this morning in true worship to the only One worthy of worship.

“The song of adoration to our Creator was written for an Irish conference on culture.  The vistas of the Pacific coast provided fresh inspiration as we dwelled on not just the beauty of God’s creation but how all of it points ultimately to Christ and eagerly longs for His return.”- Keith  & Kristyn Getty

Creation sings the Father's song; He calls the sun to wake the dawn And run the course of day Till evening falls in crimson rays.  His fingerprints in flakes of snow, His breath upon this spinning globe, He charts the eagle's flight; Commands the newborn baby's cry.  Hallelujah!  Let all creation stand and sing,"Hallelujah!" Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation's King.

Creation gazed upon His face; The ageless One in time's embrace Unveiled the Father's plan Of reconciling God and man.  A second Adam walked the earth, Whose blameless life would break the curse, Whose death would set us free To live with Him eternally.  Hallelujah!  Let all creation stand and sing,"Hallelujah!" Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation's King.

Creation longs for His return, When Christ shall reign upon the earth; The bitter wars that rage Are birth pains of a coming age.  When He renews the land and sky, All heav'n will sing and earth reply With one resplendent theme: The glories of our God and King!  Hallelujah!  Let all creation stand and sing,"Hallelujah!" Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation's King.  Hallelujah!  Let all creation stand and sing,"Hallelujah!" Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation's King.
