Westside Whistle V. 3 I. 10 - 07/29/2010

WESTSIDE WHISTLE: V. 3 I. 10

Are you going to be ready when the Lord calls?

“Even the oldest of man is still at best just a child in God’s eyes,
and at worst they are lost.”

BIBLE BYTE:

EXODUS 13: 17 – 22: God Leads the People: (NASB)

17 Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said, "The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt."

18 Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt.

19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, "God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones from here with you."

20 Then they set out from Succoth and camped in Etham on the edge of the wilderness.

21 The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night.

22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

GREATER THINGS ARE HAPPENING:

Wednesday evenings, Westside Baptist is doing “GREATER THINGS” in our community.  What are you doing Wednesday evenings? We are meeting at the Clarity Solutions Center located at 116 E. Memorial Drive in Elizabethtown starting at 6:30 pm.  We always have a time of prayer and then community service work to follow.  The little projects and tasks we are performing to help the Clarity Center are making a difference for those that come there seeking assistance.  We may not be able to move mountains, but every job we do to improve things for others is a blessing for both the recipient and the worker at the same time.  We all have many talents and skills, so why not join us Wednesday evening and user your gifts God blessed you with for the betterment of our community.   We hope to see you there.

HOME BIBLE FELLOWSHIP:

We are starting to wrap up our Home BIBLE Fellowship Study entitled “The Holiness of GOD” written by R. C. Sproul. We are meeting at the home of Jim and Barbara Eastridge at 6:00 PM.  We encourage all our members and of course your friends and guest to feel free to join us during any of the Home BIBLE Fellowship study nights.  There is always a time of fellowship, a time of prayer, a time of study, and time to praise God.  We hope to see you there.

THE 2010 – 2011 SCHOOL YEAR IS STARTING SOON:

As the dates above show this coming week many of our local schools are starting up for the 2010 – 2011 school year. This means that you will start seeing the big yellow buses back on the road and more children walking to and from schools. Please be careful and pay attention as you are driving so that the children come home safely each day. This also means most of your stores will be extremely busy with back to school shoppers getting their needed school supplies and clothes. We pray that all the children have a safe and wonderful school year filled with many wonderful memories as you also fill your mind with many wondrous and new facts each day.
